Lloyd George

Trainer for: Review & Evaluate Grain Markets and Develop & Apply Strategies for Grain Merchandising Workshops

Lloyd has over 30 years’ experience in the Australian grain industry spending 17 of those with Cargill Australia in a range of commercial and management roles.

He is a well-recognised public commentator on grain markets and writes a weekly marketing article that is syndicated in rural papers nationally.

Lloyd has a Diploma of Farm Management from Orange Agricultural College and a Professional Certificate in Arbitration from the University of Adelaide. Lloyd has also obtained his Cert. IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110).

Lloyd manages his own grain marketing consultancy business – Ag Scientia Pty Ltd. with clients throughout the grain industry.

Geoff Farnsworth

Trainer for: Apply Knoweldge of Trade Rules and Contracts & GTA Dispute Resolution Service

Geoff is a Director of Grain Trade Australia Ltd and he advises local and international businesses engaged in the trade of agricultural commodities including grains, cotton, meat and sugar in relation to commercial and regulatory matters.

He regularly drafts and reviews standard contract terms and conditions for domestic and international sales on CIF, FOB and other Intercoms.

Geoff advises exporters and financiers in relation to trade finance and insurance matters. He also regularly delivers a presentation at the GTA Export Contracts and Documentation Course.

Geoff was involved in the development of the GTA Diploma of Grain Management and also the development of the training resources.

Geoff holds:

  • Bachelor of Laws - Australian National University
  • Bachelor of Arts - Australian National University
  • Admitted to practice in Australia, England and Wales
  • Notary Public

Gerard McMullen

Trainer for: Apply Grain Industry Standards Workshop

Gerard has been involved in the development of receival standards, creation and implementation of Quality Assurance (QA), food safety and research programs and management of grain quality along the Australian and global grain supply chain right throughout his career.

He has previously and continues to sit on a number of industry and Government committees, including the GTA Standards Committee and is the current Chair of the National Working Party on Grain Protection (NWPGP).

Gerard holds a BA of Agricultural Science and has obtained his Cert. IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110). He works across the industry offering consultancy services (McMullen Consulting Pty Ltd) in the areas of advice, development and implementation of systems relating to grain quality, food safety and identity preservation.

Malcolm Finlayson

Trainer for: Report on Grain Trading Performance & Risk Workshop

Malcolm is currently the Director of Finesse Solution Pty Ltd, an accounting and business advisory service, Wheat Quality Australia (WQA) and Plant Health Australia.

He is a former Director and CFO of the Josco Group and a former CFO of the DR Johnston Group.

Malcolm holds a Bachelor of Business Studies, an MBA, is a member of CPA Australia and has obtained his Cert. IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110).
